'Nita, the Feminist

As I was going through Juanita's wallet, I came across a tiny clipping with this:

Three Wise Women
would have . . .
Asked directions,
Arrived on Time,
Helped deliver the baby,
Cleaned the stable,
Made a casserole,
Brought practical gifts and
There would be
Peace on Earth.

One thing that surprised me were her views on abortion. She strongly believed that women should have the choice. She was of the same generation as Barbara Bush, who also has that view and is also a fine wife and mother. This is worth thinking about.

worth thinking about indeed, Paul. we'd be much better off if we'd take women's opinions more deeply into account. nice post.

(though, etiologically speaking, ethics are gender-independent)

Liberty trumps life. Is that it? Even if one would never choose to end the baby's life, it's the idea that one could. Doesn't it make a mother's love even more remarkable?
