Kellsey is now appendix free!

bracelets.jpg

Sunday AM Kells started feeling a bit icky, but being the trooper that she is, she thought she'd just shake it off. So Sunday afternoon she took Aidan for a walk in the stroller, and carried Honor in the bjorn. After that walk, she had a pain in the right side of her abdomen, but thought she'd just pulled a muscle.

Monday, around 4pm, I got the call at work, "Come home. We need to go to the ER." Walter, who was about 5 ft away at the time was willingly shang-hi-ed into following me home to stand watch on the kiddos.

Monday night she went into surgery around midnight and we hope that we'll be able to go home this afternoon.

No picking up anything heavier than 10lbs for 4 weeks, though. Which includes 20lb Honor.

So that's a bummer. But Honor can sleep on the floor: it's carpeted.

as a fellow appendix-freebee, may I point out the one benefit of said surgery...from now on any pain in the abdomen will definitely not be appendicitis...(I know, not much of a benefit, but I've appreciated it from time to time...)

and as a fellow c-sectionee, we now have matching scars! woohoo!

Thanks for all your support, guys! Em, I can't wait for us to get together and wear very skimpy bikinis so we can show off all of our lovely scars--yikes! I mean, woohooo!!!!!

(don't worry, peeps, you won't EVER catch me wearing anything skimpy...not my style, yo!)

Aidan likes asking to see my bandages every day so he can lightly stroke my tummy and tell me that it is going to be okay. Very sweet.

Having gone through this over the summer, I feel your pain. I hope your church can provide you with kid care until you can lift Honor! That was a HUGE help.

How are you doing Kellsey? Any better? It can be a tough recovery when they blow your stomach up with gas and you have to wait days for it to go down. Ouch! Hopefully you can pick up Honor soon. So sorry this happened! Now you don't have to worry about being in the middle of nowhere and having your appendix burst. That's the brightside :-)
